Housesitting: I Survived!

Sorry I haven't updated. Just spent two weeks housesitting for a friend so that she could celebrate leaving the Navy by going on a cruise with her hubby. <<< notice that two Navy people chose to travel via a boat! lol!

I managed to survive the shocking surprise that they had just adding a(large)(spazzy)(insert perferred curse word here) puppy to their tribe. Samson is the puppy from Hades currently. He is not trained in any way.......but wants to please, so there is a future great dog trapped in that body. He is going to be HUGE, he is long gangly legs and huge feet that aren't coordinated yet. lol! Whenever he got excited and started running around the house, everything in his path would fly into the air. When I arrived, the house hadn't been puppyproofed so I spent alot of time 1st cleaning up whatever he had gotten into, then getting things up higher and off the floor. At the same time things went south, he had eaten a few bars of soap a day or two before his mom and dad left. So I got a reminder just why I should not get a large breed puppy ever.........he got the runs..BAD......ugh. Enough said.

Included in the crowd is one beautiful fluffy angora bunny named Stew, who chose to bite me. *sigh* not bad, I've been biten worse in the past by pet rabbits.....just a graze. He was nervous and I had decided to clean his cage. Think he needs some more social skills, but he won me over with his cuteness factor.

Larry the tomcat who has some Freudian issues. He turned out to be a great cat, ok so it's not like I've ever really met a cat I didn't like. lol! My mom calls me The Cat Whisperer. Guess she shouldn't have allowed her two siamese cats to sleep in my crib (the cats thought I was in Thier Crib)Larry was a rescue from the local shelter, given up cause of his litterbox habits. this pisses me off quite literally being that Larry was 4 years old and not nuetered! Not sure how long it will take for him to no longer be skunky, but no one can live with a nonnuetered male cat indoors. Of course if you like walking around smelling like that, more power to you. To think of how many kittens he may of fathered over that time, all needing homes. Don't understand how there are still people who are uneducated about the positive impact they make in the community and thier pet's quality of life by having them fixed. *kicks soapbox aside* sorry about the rant. To top it off, he appears to have been taken from his mom way to early. if he is given any attention, he wants to nurse. yes nurse. so everyone ends up with drool on their shirts.

Kessie, is special. She is also a rescue. a feisty older toy poodle, who happens to have 3 legs. She saddly was mistreated by a previous owner and taken away. having not been groomed, her hair had grown long and tangled around one of her back legs. Cutting off blood supply, the leg died and had to be removed. She was so tired out by the puppy that I would take her into a different room and let her take a nap.

Overall, it was a growing experience as I had to cope with it all while also attending school. Now I know i am not ready for the responsibility of own a dog. I do have a crush on the idea of taco bell doggie or a papalion (spelled wrong? butterfly in french)
