Rowan Harris Tweed Aran Wt.

In this police line up we have the Rowan Harris Tweed aran weight.

This happens to be the yarn that involved that lawsuit regarding Harris yarns and Rowan. The Yarn is now sold as Scotish Tweed.

I had the best of intentions here.

I purchased this yarn during my Beth brown-Reisel pattern stage.

The hot pink group was to become the Aran cardigan, Marilyn.

The Grey was to be a vest, can't remember the name of the pattern this second. But it involved a two colored knitted braid as trim and had STEEKS. I chose the sage color at first and saw it needed a bit more zip. That was where the purple got added to pick up the grey and sage.

*sigh*

in regards to my yarn?

In case you haven't noticed, The yarn stash is coming out by weight. lol. It appears my preferred method to organize is by content and then by weight.

Bet you can't wait to see all the sport weight I have! lmao! Hopefully I will have lost my train of thought by the time I get to those bins.......or else someone is going to want to do an intervention on me. Either that, or come steal my yarn. lol.

As you see we are modeling 3 skeins of a silver grey Lamb's pride. 1 skein of Hot pink, and finally a solo skein of lime green.

I have no idea why I have 1 skein of hot pink and lime green in both bulky and worsted weight, but guilty as charged. I must of ran in the store and not paid attention to what I was grabbing. grrrrr. and no one bothered to notice at check out. of. course.

Meet Muffy

Yes, please say hello to Muffy. She is actually a twin. I can not find the label currently. This is yet another of the yarns I bought at the guild yard sale from my enabler. There is in fact a t-square ruler in that picture to show you just how big this one ball of mohair is.
SHE IS HUGE! I'm not kidding.
If I can ever locate the shawl, still on the needles maybe I can also figure out where I left off in the pattern. lol.

No excuse, not sure how or why it's stash. the black was originally purchased to be the poncho out of Stich N Bitch. then I rethought the whole poncho fad. then looking at stash, I thought it could become the fair isle cardigan also in Stitch n Bitch.

Country 100% Icelandic Wool

The story behind this yarn:

I know an older woman who has one of the largest stashes in the land. Every year the local knitting guild has a yard sale where members can try to sell yarn they no longer want.

I always seem to walk out with this woman's stuff everytime. Heavy damage to the wallet yet even though I walk away with tons of yarn, I don't think I ever really make a dent in her stash.

This was one of those days. I had to have a total of 12 balls of icelandic wool for some reason. as you can see 6 balls are medium-light grey and the other 6 balls are a deep brown almost black. guessing that these are the natural colors off the sheep.

just took another peek at the labels: seems the yarn is made by Lopi. Could this yarn be Lopi from before Reynold's yarn acquired the name? what decade would that be? I think this yarn is older than I am.

Noro Iro

Here we have an example of what happens when I wander past a sale bin. Not 100% sure, but this should be 2 balls of Iro. Color name unknown as labels are lost. This poor yarn has tryed to become something so hard that it's the bulky yarn that could of my stash.

tryed to be a casual cabled pocketbook. The dark colors caused the cables not to show.

Spiral rib hat. I should of done a gauge. the yarn was too bulky and the hat just didn't work, the fabric was too thick.

One day this yarn will find it's calling.

Look at those colors! It's too pretty for just anything.

Reynolds Lite-Lopi Vol. 19 Design # 9

What better way to start my shameful project of documenting my stash as a means of hopefully making me knit from it. Here we have a Reynolds Lite-Lopi pattern book. I just had to have it! yeah, right, ok. Did I mention I live in the south? I need a lopi pullover maybe once a year around here. Of course I special ordered the yarn, cause it's not like there is much demand for the yarn around here. hehe, the store owner was kind enough to order it, nevermind that meant ordering a bag of each color (10 balls per bag) for a pattern that required single skeins.

See I feel in lust with this pattern, and didn't bother with the particulars such as:

• even though pattern book says Lite-Lopi. The sweater is not lite-lopi!
• the sweater is a pullover, I've been trying to figure out just where I might be able to divide the pattern repeat to create a cardigan. lol!
• This sweater is knit using a combination of Lopi and Lite-Lopi.
• Lopi is single strand.
• Lite-lopi is double stranded.
• It gets worse. The Lite-lopi is using color blending to create the gradual change in color. So in one row you can be using 2 strands of the same color, and then 1 strand each of two colors together to create the next shade.
• Hmmmm, wonder how this project died before it even hit the needles?

stash expansion: Will be exposed!

As away to shame myself into keeping up with Stashbust 2007, I have decided to flash the stash. Over the next days, weeks I will be using my handy dandy newish digital camera to expose my hoarding problem for what it is. *cring*

Knit From Your Stash 2007 revisement

It's insane of me to think I can last a year with no stash enhancement. My question is then are patterns and/or books included? I have enough yarn for a long time. but I do have a book habit to keep up. lol.

Buying yarn is like breathing air. No matter how much yarn you have hiding at home, you NEED the yarn you come across in the wild. I am very guilty of this behavior. I have TONS of yarn over here, and as my possesions are still slowly making it over to my new apartment.......there's MORE. In fact if it got here, I have no clue where I could even put it. The frig?

it would be highly proactive of me to abstine from yarn enhancement. Especially as money is tighter than I like to believe. lol. I'minabit of denial at this time.

• Will not buy any yarn during that period, with the following exceptions:

Flattering wrap style cardigan, close fitting, written for worsted weight yarn at a gauge of 18 sts to 4 inches. Womens sizes small to xx-large.

I've chosen a beautiful Cascade 220 heather #9452 blue




The plain version of the shrug I purchased in early august and have been using Encore colorspun Worsted weight in an Ombre Pink, grey, Rose.

The Picture with the models back facing, is a different version I just picked up. Saddly Plymouth yarns has choosen the worst picture possiable to showcase the pattern on their webpage. It actually has an optional lacy trim around it to form a pretty lace collar.
I picked out Brown Sheep, lamb's pride in a red. It looks overdyed in person, there is almost some black showing up in the yarn.

Knitting Pure & Simple
Basic Cardigan Vest for Women # 995
A plain cardigan vest written at 4 stitches to the inch, for heavy worsted weight yarn. Knitted in one piece to the armholes. finished chest measurements 33 to 46 inches.

After taking a short Intro to Mosiac Knitting class at a lys this past weekend and being completely stressed to almost the breaking point with College Chemistry. Why? Oh why? Do I have to take 2 science with labs? Anyhooo...Armed with needles and two shades of blue Lamb's Pride (which might happen to be too close in hue now that I have left the store with them)I am determined to make a two color vest using a pattern from Barbara Walker's Mosiac Knitting.

Stress induced stash enhancement

I have been very very naughty.

Stressed to the limits, I have an healthy practice of shopping. In stores, on ebay, on websites. You get the picture. One can tell my mental state by looking at my current level on new shiney/fuzzy objects.

When I get home from Algebra and then a 3 hour chemistry test..........I will post more on my new pretty prettys.

Who knows, if I can get the camera working....maybe an actual flash of yarn porn. ;)

Sorting the UFO pile for team backup

While organizing the stash, I have made a point:
# to pull aside any yarn that belongs to a project on the needles.
# place found yarn with the project otherwise known as a UFO.
# I have pulled the LACE UFO's aside.
They are now competing with one another on the dining room table to see just who is worthy of stepping up to the plate if ROE is unable to fulfill it's duties as a co-teammember.

Currently the Wool Peddler Shawl is being smothered by Princess AKA "The Dirty Butt White Cat" (Pretty Angora from the front but gawd help your eyes if she turns around). Thankfully, I had planned on washing the shawl as soon as it's off the needles.

Have started my organizational challenge. The plastic bags with zippers that bedding comes in, may not be the proper way to treat my wool stash. Having noticed a bit of dryness in a roving and a ball of yarn lately, I have been thinking it was time to change the method.

Went to the Dollar Tree down the street and purchased all of the mesh laundry zip bags they had. not many :( Someone esle must of gotten the same idea. I put the yarn for one project together in one of the bags. I think I might have a problem with this method too. I will have to troll every Dollar Tree to get more bags.

Thanks to my mom for thinking outside the box, I have a tall bureau that doesn't get properly used because of its location in the bedroom. Currently it has a few items of clothing that I haven't worn in forever. The doors are currently being kept shut by a rubber band over the door knobs. See the real reason I stopped using it might really be because the cats love to nap inside of the bureau. Why bother doing laundry and neatly folding your clothes when a cat will be pushing thier way in it to make the perfect niche to sleep?! Everytime I would try to find a t-shirt it would be mussed and coated in fur.

Maybe when i get more mesh bags i will also look for those plastic child locks they sell for cabinets. Cause I really don't want any cats making a bed out of the 2lbs of lilac merino susperwash roving I recently purchased! Why i bought it I'm not completely sure. Think I lost my mind at that moment. See, I have dropspindles, but not a wheel yet. That's alot of spindling if I want to knit a sweater in this lifetime with it.
