The Spindle Barn holds up to three spindles safely and securely. Straps over the front and rear of the Barn prevent spindles from bouncing or rolling out of place.
Coverings inside the notches protect the shafts of the spindles. Spindles can be placed as shown or, in the instance of a low whorl spindle or a high whorl with a longer shaft above the whorl the whorl can be placed inside the barn.
A tension string provides smooth control over the spindles, preventing spindles from over spinning as the yarns are plied, and keeps all yarns under even tension resulting in a much more consistent yarn.
Very small spindles can be lengthened by slipping a straw on the end of the shaft:
A thread guide in the carrying handle prevents yarns from catching on other spindles. The box serves as a storage compartment for fibers, yarns, nostepindes or other small tools.

Hello Everyone out in Blog land!
Within a few week ago I was surf the internet and somewhere came across this nifty item pictured above. To better aim you in helping me find where to get one of these, let me describe exactly what it is.

• Yes, I know, it's a box with a handle. The open box area is used to hold your tools, stash, current project, wallet, keys. Anything else?
• It hold the 3 drop spindles in place and is considered a TENSIONED Lazy Kate. When you are ready to ply, just pop the spindles in place and they will not roll across the room as you ply off of them. That's the nifty part!
• handle: who can't use a handle to make the task of carrying this box around just a little easier.

have you seen one?

have you seen a box minus the handle at AC Moore? I'm not really good at working with wood, but the body can achieve what the mind can conceive.

Stashing stash.......

Have started my organizational challenge. The plastic bags with zippers that bedding comes in, may not be the proper way to treat my wool stash. Having noticed a bit of dryness in a roving and a ball of yarn lately, I have been thinking it was time to change the method.

Went to the Dollar Tree down the street and purchased all of the mesh laundry zip bags they had. not many :( Someone esle must of gotten the same idea. I put the yarn for one project together in one of the bags. I think I might have a problem with this method too. I will have to troll every Dollar Tree to get more bags.

Thanks to my mom for thinking outside the box, I have a tall bureau that doesn't get properly used because of its location in the bedroom. Currently it has a few items of clothing that I haven't worn in forever. The doors are currently being kept shut by a rubber band over the door knobs. See the real reason I stopped using it might really be because the cats love to nap inside of the bureau. Why bother doing laundry and neatly folding your clothes when a cat will be pushing thier way in it to make the perfect niche to sleep?! Everytime I would try to find a t-shirt it would be mussed and coated in fur.

Maybe when i get more mesh bags i will also look for those plastic child locks they sell for cabinets. Cause I really don't want any cats making a bed out of the 2lbs of lilac merino susperwash roving I recently purchased! Why i bought it I'm not completely sure. Think I lost my mind at that moment. See, I have dropspindles, but not a wheel yet. That's alot of spindling if I want to knit a sweater in this lifetime with it.
